Michael Holt is the smartest man on earth or is he?
Terry Sloan is back and he's not alone, he has brought someone as terrible as himself. Now, Mister Terrific will have to try to stop them from stealing his technology for their plans, could he be successful?
For people who don't know, this is the proper beginning of Daniel H. Wilson's work on the Earth 2 franchise since he's gong to become the showrunner in the upcoming weekly Earth 2: Worlds End. Does he deliver?
Let's talk about the best aspects from this issue first shall we?
For one, the characterization is quite good. Both Michael Holt and Terry Sloan have received more personality and attention in this issue than in the whole run written by Tom Taylor and is pretty faithful to how they were portrayed in the past (although the portrayal of Michael is more similar to the one in Futures End of course).
The concepts are also pretty interesting and there are several sub-plots that are being introduced which are most likely going to be use in the respective weekly series.
However, the story is a bit confusing at times. There's another character being introduced and I'm not sure how he ended-up appearing here, I have the same problem with some of the plot-points. Not to mention that Michael appears to be from Earth 2 now which is quite odd considering that he was supposedly born in Prime Earth.
Eddy Barrows is in charge of the art and work is pretty good. The expressions are quite nice despite of how weird his faces can look, but still manages to bring a good tone to the story.
An interesting issue I would say despite of some flaws.
