Plastic Man will have to improve his parenting skills.
Eel managed to save the kid who has been hunted all this time but taking care of him could be harder than he thought, especially once that the truth about this whole situation is revealed.
This story is taking an interesting twist.
Gail Simone continues this series by developing more about the plot and I'm glad for it. The previous issues were fun but they were mostly about typical Plastic Man jokes mixed with character work, those aspects are also present here but they also include much more story progression and a few surprises here and there. The portrayals are solid, particularly when they focus on creating likable characters and yes, most of the cast are really likable and have relevant roles that contribute to the investigation.
Speaking of which, the investigation is solidly done and allows for interesting revelations along the way, especially towards the end due that Eel's relevance in all of this becomes much bigger based on the current threat. If there's a flaw that I could mention is that how Simone always keeps pushing her own favorites into this book without too much rhyme or reason, for example the Secret Six appear here and I like them fine enough but their part in the story is minimal and it feels like Simone just wanted to use her pet characters in some way.
Adriana Melo's artwork is fantastic and I doubt the book would be half as good without her. Her flexible and appealing style gets the best from every scene and creates really attractive characters.
Good read overall, hope we see new developments from here.
