How can this battle finally conclude?
Deathstroke and Batman have almost killed each other but now they will have to work together to uncover the truth.
I was wrong about the last issue being the conclusion and I'm glad I did since this one works much, much better.
Christopher Priest delivers the finale of this long storyarc by bringing the inevitable resolution about who is truly Damian's father. Priest explores several perspectives here, from Tim Drake's flawed research (which is also understandable based on the portrayal), to the contrast from the last issue where both Bruce and Slade fought to the death and now they have to help each other, to the several twists and fake clues that ultimately lead to true culprit of manipulating the characters involved and all works wonderfully.
Best of all are the characterization and themes. The ideas about paternity and how Slade and Bruce differ from such concept remain solidly-executed and eventually demonstrates that while Slade is not really a good father, it seems like at least he's trying to which makes him much more understandable.
Carlo Pagulayan handles the art and is beautiful with strong action scenes and expressive characters.
Quite good conclusion, this book always brings the goods.
