The Dark Multiverse has open the door for new heroes.
Mr. Terrific has decided to learn what happened after the event that almost destroyed the multiverse and in his way he will find many people that are currently feeling lost.
And here it is people. The proper return of Jeff Lemire to DC Comics with an ongoing on his own. Since the beginning this seemed like a pretty interesting concept, this is basically DC's answer to Marvel's Fantastic Four (who are strangely missing in their current line) and the writer does a decent job at setting things up at the very least.
First of all, this series is heavily based on Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo's Metal event so if you haven't read that title then you might feel lost here. This could be a bit of a problem for most new readers admitedly but Lemire offers a clear portrayal for most of the cast so this shouldn't be so bad for people who are just knowing these characters. Not to mention that this issue alone reunites the whole team while creating their direction which is something that doesn't happen too often in other team books these days believe or not.
The story however, is pure preparation for what is about to come. In that sense you feel like not a lot happened in this opening chapter but the cliffhanger that this issue offers is strong enough for people to be invested in the book (particularly fans of Alan Moore's work),
Ivan Reis handles the art and he's magnificent thanks to his beautiful style that creates strong scenerios and gorgeous characters.
Interesting read but I hope the next one offers more content.
