Can Hal and Kyle escape the wrath of the Kryptonians?
General Zod and his family are decided to conquer other planets and not even some of the strongest members of the Green Lantern Corps can face them. Now is up to the entire army to handle this problem.
This storyarc continues and is still quite entertaining.
Robert Venditti uses this chapter to show the desperate situation that Hal and Kyle are suffering. The characterization is once again pretty solid thanks to the multiple scenes that focus on the Green Lanterns and how their dynamic is affected due to the immense power of the Kryptonians, this manages to present a much closer relationship between the two which makes you more invested in their sake. Even Zod and his family are portrayed in an interesting way since the General is depicted as a sophisticated person who tries to have what he believes is a normal family while also trying to rule the universe.
The plot progresses at a nice pace while some of the early sub-plots like Hal's ring come together nicely and also inject several exciting moments where the protagonist fight for their lives.
Ethan Van Sciver returns to art duties and once again, his work is perfect for the series thanks to his ability to depict big scenes and detailed characters.
Good read, hope the next chapter arrives soon.
