Batman and Wonder Woman will have to team-up once again.
Wonder Woman has just been visited by a deity who needs her aid and soon she will realize that she's not the only one involved here.
And here it is, one of my least anticipated team-ups. As I've mentioned in the past, I'm not really a fan of the dynamice between Batman and Wonder Woman, particularly how authors like Greg Rucka do it when they tend to force a romantic attraction between the two (that never, EVER works by the way) and it seems like artist Liam Sharp is following Rucka's steps which makes sense considering his involvement in Rucka's Wonder Woman run but that doesn't prevent this from being an ill-conceived premise.
And sadly, the execution is not much better than that premise.
Sharp opens the story with a premise that is decent enough which obviously focuses on Diana and her classic encounters with the pantheon of Gods. This creates an opportunity to explore fantastic locations which has always been Sharp's speciality and he really delivers at showing some majestic settings from a visual perspective.
Unfortunately, the actual writing leaves a bit to be desired. The dialogue can be awkward, a few of the lines the characters speak are really weird and not really the way how most human beings talk (I found pretty strange how Diana refers to Steve as "the human male"), even the Gods talk in an overly-poetic and melodramatic way that just seems off. The transitions between setting and setting is also poorly done due that it jumps erratically from place to place. Finally, Batman's role makes little sense since he's basically thrown into this story for barely explained reasons.
Sharp's art as mentioned before, is pretty solid when it tries to evoke wonderful scenarios but not so good at storytelling due to the all the already mentioned issues.
Not promising and probably won't continue with this all things considered.
