Some thoughts about Inferior Five #3

Who are the Inferior Five?

A group of kids survived the invasion years ago and now a new one is bound to destroy them all.

A few reveals are given here but is a little too late.

Keith Giffen and Jeff Lemire bring a new chapter where they finally explain who these characters are. It seems like this story is actually suited in the main DCU, the thing is that this occurred years after the Invasion event and the survivors went to live to a new place dictated by the Government which automatically makes this story and cast a bit more interesting. The addition of characters like the Tasmanian Devil and some sort of Starro makes things more exciting too.

The problem is that this is too little too late because at the time this issue was released, this series has been cancelled and cut in half which means Giffen should have made the story more interesting since the beginning and now he won't end on his terms and he will most likely deliver his typical petty and unfinished finales whenever this thing happens (and yes, I'm calling this a "Giffen story" because this is pure Giffen from the extremely different reinventions, characterizations and everything).

Giffen's art is solid in its own way though with a good attention to detail despite of the rough finish.

Lemire's Peacemaker is still solid with the appropriate appearance of the KGBeast who is a logical enemy for the protagonist and a good sense of development. The style is also fitting for some of the scenes.

Decent read, shame for the cancellation but mostly because of the loss of Lemire's segment.
