Will the Citizen win this battle?
Oliver has been caught and now the people of Seattle are going to decide his fate but there must be other solution to this battle.
And this run has come to a conclusion, despite of being a bit apphrensive to the arrival of Julie and Shawna Benson to the title initially, I must say that they definitely exceeded my expectations and makes me wish they would stay for a longer run.
The way how they handle the whole theme about people enacting their own sense of justice via social media seems incredibly on-point. The idea about how people shouldn't act like a mob and instead voice their concerns towards the law and let the justice system actually dictate their verdict is something that sadly has been missing in recent times. Yes, the law is definitely not perfect and sometimes makes mistakes but is better to trust it instead of following a worst path.
The characters perfectly reflect that. The Citizen doesn't really care for justice as much as serving his own purpose which, again, is an appropriate depiction of certain people in real life while Ollie is not exactly portrayed as someone necessarily perfect, nor even that different from the antagonist but at least shows to have more honest intentions towards the people and city and accepts that others have their own opinions and how to express them.
Some plot-points are not going to be resolved by the writers though, like the mysterious box Ollie got from J'onn but that doesn't really ruins this particular arc.
German Peralta handles the art and is really solid with an appealing artstyle, good expressions and clear storytelling.
Satisfying conclusion. Is a shame that the Bensons are leaving and that they're going to be replaced by Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly because I believe their last Green Arrow story wasn't as good as this one but still, let's see how they go.
