The nation is in trouble.
The families have decided to murder the President of the United States and just a few will suffer the consequences.
Everything is escalating pretty fast.
Brian Bendis offers a new installment where he explores the ramifications of this conflict. The last attack against the families have prompted them to retaliate which automatically involves both Jagger and Valentine because of their connection. This actually involves a few interesting concepts about how neither the President nor the families trusted each other but needed their respective help for everyone's sake but now that the murders have started, the war is inevitable, the idea of corruption and how everyone is culprit here is palpable.
Bendis doesn't forget the human side of all of this though and this is especially clear in both Jagger and Valentine and how both are forced to do a job that not even murderers like them want to take, they actually react like normal people would but the clash with their lives constantly gets in the way.
Michael Avon Oeming remains in art duties and as usual, he depicts the script perfectly with an artstyle that is both cartoony and violent at the same time in the right moments.
Great read, can't wait for the next one.
