Can Wonder Woman trust war?
Ares has returned in a new body and he apparently wants to help Diana now. Meanwhile, Steve is about to found himself in an even more dangerous situation.
Second issue of this run and sadly, is not really better than the last one.
G. Willow Wilson continues her story and offers a few more hints about where this direction is going. As we learned in the last chapter, Ares has been reincarnated into a new person who doesn't really want to make things that differently. The problem with this section is that I feel like it escalated too quickly and could have played with the idea that Ares is truly a different being, tricking Diana into trusting him and then prepare a bigger plan behind her back. Sadly, this doesn't happen and Ares' true nature once again becomes pretty obvious which leads to mostly action scenes.
Speaking of which, this issue is once again pretty devoid of content. Aside from the already mentioned section, there's one focusing on Steve being prisoner by some strange creature and even that doesn't really offer that much insight and ends quite abruptly. I was expecting a few more interesting details being revealed.
Cary Nord's artwork remains serviceable in terms of expressions and storytelling but again, it pales in comparison to Terry Dodson's covers.
Doesn't feel like there much progression, probably even less than the first chapter. Not sure if things will pick up.
