How can Batman beat one of his worst adversaries?
The Batman who Laughs is back and the only way Bruce can even face him is by turning into what he hates the most.
Responding to question on the cover: No, I didn't. I was pretty much tired of you towards the end of Metal because you were pretty much the culmination of all the "Sue" tropes that both Scott Snyder and James Tynion IV injected into Batman and the Joker (mostly the latter) and I still believe your story should have ended in that event.
That being said, here we are anyway so let's see how this story goes.
Scott Snyder begins a new miniseries focusing on this overused villain and the level of threat he presents. Mind you, not everything about this is that cringey since Snyder utilizes the concept of the Multiverse to in a way explore an alternate life of Bruce where he stopped being Batman and is actually happy which presents an interesting moment of characterization and makes me wish the rest of the issue offered more segments like that.
Sadly, that's not the case since the rest of the story is devoted to how overly powerful and dangerous the Batman who Laughs is with characters constantly mentioning it and forcing Bruce to make a drastic decision towards the end. Is still fanboy writing unfortunately and doesn't give me a lot of hope for is what is about to come.
Jock's artwork is really good though with his classic dark style that fits the tone of the plot perfectly and creates many remarkable scenes.
Not promising and not sure how this will continue.
