Can the Super Sons accept their future?
Jon and Damian have just found their future selves and things are only going to get more confusing from there.
This is exactly what I needed after so many disappointments concerning one of the characters here.
As I've mentioned before, I don't like the direction that Brian Bendis has been taking with Jon and, based on solicitations, things are just going to get worse due that he's going to be forced to become a teenager and considering how Bendis has been writing him so far, he's most likely going to be an angsty teenager.
This however, this is pure fun Peter Tomasi's Jon and reminds me why he made me love the character so much. Here Jon is a really innocent and entertaining kid that can find joy in even meeting his old-self, even his reaction to some of the most strange events concerning the future are exactly how a child would react.
Speaking of which, the events that occur here are really interesting due that Tomasi explains the appearance of these future Jon and Damian in a way that makes sense and even includes a few aspects that they can barely comprehend like growing old and having sons on their own (Yes, the Super Sons with sons is a pretty fun premise by itself). All of this leads to a pretty charming ending.
Carlo Barberi's art remains wonderful thanks to his flexible character expressions and vibrant style.
Great issue, going to miss this version of Jon once that this is over.
