The Terrifics need to stay together.
After a mysterious message from Tom Strong, Mister Terrific will have to find out what's truly happening on his own but he will soon realize that is not really possible.
This story continues and while decent enough, I still don't find it particularly engaging.
Jeff Lemire brings a new chapter where he focuses on character work and a bit of plot progression. Credit where credit is due, the characterization is pretty sound due that the writer understands how all these different personalities should be portrayed and how they should interact with one another which makes a fairly enjoyable cosmic adventure.
The thing is that I still don't find anything that I can really call "great" which is weird coming from a Lemire fan like myself. Characterization is fine, pacing is fine, conversations are fine (although a bit heavyhanded at times), ideas are fine but I'm still waiting for that Lemire magic to make me fall in love with the book. Another issue is that this is still pretty light in content and I don't think the plot progresses that much. That being said, Lemire at least gives a solid reason for this team to work together.
Ivan Reis' artwork is magnificent thanks to his wonderful widescreen story that gives the action a really epic feel.
Not bad but still nothing really remarkable, hope it gets better.
