The Justice League of China is about to receive a new member.
A strange metahuman has appeared in North Korea and now the team will have to do their best to save him from his nation.
This was yet another successful entry.
Gene Luen Yang continues to deliver the classic worldbuilding and social commentary that has been prevalent since issue 1. The way how North Korea is explored here is pretty interesting from a political angle since the obvious differences between that nation and China are quickly drawn, the nature of the socialism in North Korea clashes with the more progressive China of recent years and that is reflected in the new Aquaman that the JL has to recruit, about how he sees the two countries in different ways.
The plot itself continues to progress due to the different characters who play an important role here. Although I must say that I'm still not a fan of how the relationship between Kenan and Avery is being developed, especially because now it seems like there's going to be some sort of love triangle (and Avery's inclusion here is weird considering her role in the current Flash book).
Brent Peeples' art is still not the best due to its lact of uniqueness and polish but is serviceable at least I guess.
Overall, pretty solid read. Need more of this.
