Some thoughts about Superman #30

Can Superman face the ultimate fear?

Clark has been possessed by Parallax and now Sinestro wants them both under his control, that is unless Clark shows the strength to overcome the fear.

Well, this one worked much better than the last issue.

Keith Champagne concludes this little story with a much more successful chapter that doesn't rely so much in heavyhanded dialogue and themes as much as in effective scenes. The characterization works nicely thanks to the writer's understanding of how all these heroes and villains actually are, the little lines where both Clark and Sinestro mention Hal in their own way tell a lot and the interactions between all of them is quite solid.

The themes about fear work quite nicely due how the classic Supeman ideas like hope are implemented into the mix and create a pretty satisfying and on-point conclusion for the protagonist and story.

Ed Benes, Tyler Kirkham and Philip Tan share the pencils and while the different styles clash with one another, they all do a solid job during their respective segments for the most part.

Enjoyable overall, exceeded expectations.
