Some thoughts about Detective Comics #965

Tim Drake needs to return no matter what.

After being imprisoned for so long, Tim has remembered why he was so important to Batman and his mission and now he will have to find a way to escape his prison despite of the dangers he could encounter.

Okay, this worked much better than previous issues.

Despite that everybody has complaints about some of the less than stellar characterization that James Tynion IV has created for this title, at the very least I've always thought that he had a good handle on Tim Drake and this issue is a good example of that. Tynion does know the history of the character and implements it into the story in a way that makes sense and demonstrates how relevant he is to everyone in the Batfamily.

This is clearly connected to the initial Rebirth premise and shows some of the ideas created by it including the whole concept of prisoners from the multiverse which allows for the introduction of yet another character from Geoff Johns' Teen Titans run that I'm glad is back.

Eddy Barrows handles the artwork and is pretty solid with a quite dark tone and expressive characters although such expressions can look awkward at times.

Really solid, hope it continues this way.
