Michael Cray will have to save the world from superheroes.
A man named Barry Allen is murdering inventors around the world and is up to Michael to figure the real reason behind.
Well, this is getting interesting overall.
Bryan Hill and Warren Ellis offer a new chapter in this exploration of The Wild Storm universe by creating more murderous versions of DC's classic heroes. This time the story is centered around Barry Allen and how he starts to lose his mind due to the events in his work and now is threatening all people around him. Mind you, this kind of direction might get old after a while but at least they're presented in an intriguing enough way so far and Barry's insanity shows more potential than Ollie's.
There's also a fair amount of political themes that are being handled here (although is a bit predictable since at this point one has to assume that every book with a black lead has to handle such topics) and is being treated in a realistic enough manner which seems fitting for this kind of universe. I hope there's more complexity once that the story progresses though.
N. Steven Harris is in charge of the pencils and his work is decent with expressive characters and clear storytelling although lacks a bit of polish.
Enjoyable but I hope this direction brings more surprises in the future.
