Vixen will have to remember what truly matters.
Mari has been doing her best to protect the animals but she has forgetten about the rest of the people. Now she will need to embrace her legacy to save everyone.
The one-shots about the members of the JLA continue and this time is focused on one of the most underrated ones.
Steve Orlando and Jody Houser pretty much reboot Vixen here, I don't think they even bother to explain her previous appearances since the New 52 since this is pretty much the first time she appears as a superhero but as it is, it gets the job done. The writers explore more about her past and her roots showing where her powers come from and how important they are for her which gives her a more interesting background and motivation.
Speaking of which, her powers are depicted in an interesting manner based on each animal's skills while her different careers are also nicely connected which makes her not only an interesting member of the upcoming team but also gives her potential for a solo series.
Jamal Campbell is in charge of art duties and his work is pretty appealing with an expressive and semi-realistic style that gets the best from character models and settings.
Great stuff, this line-up gets better and better.
