The Suicide Squad has come to an end.
El Diablo will need to become a demon to win and Amanda Waller will have to fight her own.
As usual, half of this was good and the other not so much.
Jai Nitz is once again the weak link by depicting a by the numbers conclusion for his story that pretty much puts Chato just in the place he began once again. To be fair, there are some solid aspects like the inclusion of the original El Diablo as part of the mythos as well as a Mexican team of heroes but aside from that, the ending comes insatisfactory and not worth mentioning. Cliff Richards' semi-realistic artwork is wasted here.
Then again, there's Vita Ayala's story that delivers a pretty interesting characterization for Amanda Waller in a pretty creative way while also depicting the rest of the cast solidly. Matt Merkoff's expressive artstyle sells the script with strong storytelling.
Wish this series would have been better develope as a whole. I don't think I want to read another Nitz' story but I'm all on board for more of Ayala/Merkoff.
