The apocalypse never ends.
The gang is still trying to survive in this world where new creatures appear at every corner and some of them might surprise them even more.
Yeaaaaah, I feel like this is going nowhere.
Keith Giffen and J.M. DeMatteis offer a new chapter where they continue to focus on humour and character work and while some of those aspects are nice, the story doesn't progress at all. I mean, we learn a bit more about the creatures and how they operate, about how they can even take different forms to kill others but aside from that, the plot doesn't offer anything new aside from the usual premise of the group trying to get alive from this.
The characterization is fine, then again, it doesn't offer anything particularly new or deep about them. It has nice details here and there but is basically more of the same. The comedic scenes work but they don't save the rest.
Howard Porter continues to handle the pencils and his work is still quite stunning with complex creatures and environments that offer a lot of detail.
Not sure if I will keep reading this but I hope it gets better.
