Deathstroke will need to take care of his family once again.
Slade has found his daughter and he's ready to teach her how he handles his missions. The real question though is, is she ready?
Once again, I'm amazed about how Christopher Priest can handle this character.
The writer arrives with a new chapter where he explores several key aspects of Deathstroke including his relationship with his whole family and while most of the dynamic is between Rose and him, there are still some scenes exploring his past with the rest. Slade's voice is perfect, long-gone is the juvenile and idiotic portrayal that Tony Daniel gave him and Priest depicts as an intelligent strategist and manipulator who ultimately cares about his family but does it in his own tough way.
Rose is also nicely portrayed as someone who believes that is more competent than she actually is which, considering her history, is pretty accurate. Plus, her interactions with her father are pretty entertaining. The dialogue flows well, the story progresses nicely, the action is intense, do I need to say more?
Oh yeah, Joe Bennett delivers a great work in art duties with pretty expressive characters and strong action scenes that perfectly capture the nature of the book.
Excellent stuff, one of the best issues yet.
