Hal Jordan has been captured, what does that mean for the Green Lantern Corps?
Sinestro's influence is growing around the universe and now he has managed to capture one of the best Green Lanterns around and that might be the last straw for the entire Corps.
Here you have the best chapter yet people.
Robert Venditti comes up with a story where he puts Sinestro against the most unlikely Green Lantern, Guy Gardner. By playing with expectations about making Sinestro face his classic rival, Hal Jordan, the writer manages to create one of the most entertaining conflicts in this book where Guy's personality contrasts with Sinestro's perfectly and both starts clashing almost immediately. The character work and dynamic are fantastic.
The plot also progresses at a nice pace with the antagonist's plans starting to be revealed just like Hal's fate. Plus, we get one glorious moment with the Green Lantern Corps that promise big things for the next installment.
Ethan Van Sciver is in charge of the art and his work is perfect for this chapter. He manages to make every scene look big and memorable, even the more personal ones focusing on the interaction between the characters which depict their personalities perfectly.
Great issue, the next one better arrive soon.
