The Suicide Squad will have to deal with an unstoppable force.
General Zod has been freed from the Phantom Zone and he's ready to kill everyone in his path and the team might not be able to do anything about it.
When does this become good?
I have been waiting and waiting for something that actually impresses from this title but Rob Williams still hasn't delivered anything close to it. This chapter is once again full of predictable stuff, there are decent moments here and there, and the dialogue is not as awkward as previous issues (is still not perfect though) but the ideas, characterization, story or overall execution are pretty by the numbers and at times I feel like this getting nowhere.
Jim Lee is still the best aspect here thanks to his cinematic style but at times the storytelling can also be off.
There's a second segment focusing on Katana that explores more about her origin and the reason why she's on the team but again, is nothing spectacular and the way how they explain her role on the group is so blunt that it loses any effect the plot-point might have.
Philip Tan handles the artwork and is surprisingly good due that he uses a distinctive style that fits the character and tale.
Other than that, nothing to see here. This title continues to be one of most disappointing from Rebirth.
