Some thoughts about Detective Comics #969

Is Batman's team together at last?

Tim has returned and that has brought Steph back to the team but their problems are just about to get worse.

To be honest, I just got this because there were barely any titles to read this week and I'm already regretting it.

For one, the story that James Tynion IV is telling is still not getting better, mostly because of the way he is treating Steph. Tim has returned and suddenly everything is forgiven and forgotten for Steph (Well, not everything obviously but I still think that her return to the team was handled too quickly). Sure, the whole character change for Steph was pretty stupid and I wish her for her to go back to normal but by doing it this way just makes me think that she's only happy now that her man has returned which is quite problematic in its own way (and Steph keeps lacking her classic sense of humour which makes things worse).

The plot is not much better. There was some potential due to the appearance of some of Batman's classic rogue's gallery but that is quickly thrown out the window since Tynion believes that his own, and quite frankly boring, creation, the Victim's Syndicate is a better choice. This also means that he's repeating his stories already.

Joe Bennett's artwork is quite good though with solid character expressions and storytelling.

Other than that, yeah, dropped already.
