Is Gotham sick?
James Gordon has been infected and is starting to see his city in a different way which could put him at odds with his loved ones.
Yet another Infected one-shot is here and as far as those go, I think is okay enough but far from perfect.
Paul Jenkins handles this issue and after his great work in the Black Adam tie-in for Year of the Villain, I was hoping to see more of his work but I don't think he quite got it here. The premise is about a corrupted Gordon dealing with crime in Gotham and he does it in its own way, a more brutal way which is clearly influenced by the infection and ultimately creates a conflict with Batgirl.
The thing is that I don't Jenkins sells the idea of this corrupted Gordon that well. Yes, becomes more brutal and everything but is not really interesting to see nor offers a more complex insight about the character since we have seen him as corrupted from the get go. It's just Gordon gone bad and not in a compelling manner.
Jack Herbert handles the art and is solid with a pretty dark tone that is fitting for the plot.
Aside from that, this was passable but I was expecting more.
