Is there someone who can stop Lex Luthor?
Porky Pig has just received a suprising opportunity from Lexcorp but once that a mysterious disappearance appears, he will realize that things were not the way he believed.
Man, this is a pretty compelling crossover as expected.
Mark Russell brings his take in this encounter between Lex Luthor and Porky Pig in a way that makes sense for both. I wasn't that much of a fan of the goofy portrayal Lex got from Russell last time but that was mostly because he tried to fit it in a serious story, here however, it works much better because the story is pretty weird by itself. The idea of Porky Pig being a disgraced businessman fits perfectly for the theme of the story and also allows for a few classic characters to appear.
The story is rather silly but brings a shocking amount of complexity to it. "The mystery of the stolen sandwiches" is so goofy that is well-suited for the Looney Tunes and is even funnier when all the characters take it like an actual tragedy and Porky is the hero who needs to prevent it from happen again. This also creates an interesting parallel with Lex once that the "mystery" is solved and shows how different they can be and how manipulative and calculating bad businessmen can become.
The hilarious cameo of Daffy Duck really brings another hysterical level.
Brad Walker was a good choice for art duties due to his ability to create quite expressive characters along with precise storytelling.
There's another feature just like other crossovers by Jim Fanning focusing on a more cartoony tale that offers a decent amount of social commentary and characterization. John Loter's artwork is really reminiscent of classic Looney Tunes.
Satisfying read. The other crossovers will probably pale in comparison.
