A grotesque horde of murders have just begun.
Barbara is trying to figure out what pushed Grotesque to commit such atrocious crimes but the fight could leave her permanently damaged.
The proper beginning of Mairghread Scott's run is here and just like the set-up she created in the previous issue, this is solidly told.
Scott brings one of the most forgettable villains from Gail Simone's run, Grotesque, in a way that makes him more dangerous than ever and hopefully will bring a new level of complexity that lacked during his original appearance.
The characterization is pretty solid since Babs is portrayed pretty competently and the relationship between her and her father shows her importance immediately, her connections with the rest of Gotham are also shown and allows the story to progress appropriately.
Speaking of the story, there's not a lot of progress per se but the issue does offer enough content based on the characterization and sets-up, not to mention that Scott creates an interesting plot-point for Barbara that could destroy her whole life.
Paul Pelletier handles the art and he's as competent as ever thanks to his expressive characters and strong storytelling.
Good issue overall, hope things continue this way.
