The terrors are only getting worse.
Joe and Annie have just arrived to a new town but unfortunately, it has also been prey of the bizarre events that have been happening lately.
I just love how different this series continues to be.
Justin Jordan brings a new chapter and continues the horror direction that this book had since the beginning. As I mentioned before, this book is as far from your usual DC superhero comic as possible and at times it doesn't even feel like it takes place in the same universe and that remains for the better due that is able to explore concepts without the involvement of characters that would honestly feel out of place here.
The plot of this particular story is clear proof of that due that this time the protagonists have found yet another town quite similar from their old one, in more ways than they could imagine due that apparently the same thing that happened to Joe is affecting others, this time the victims are kids and makes the whole premise even more terrifying. The tension of the issue escalates strongly with each new page showing how dangerous the little monsters are and cement this book as one of the best horror titles from DC Comics in that regard. My only problem here is that the issue ended a bit too fast and just when it was getting even better but what we had here was pretty good.
Phillip Tan and Jose Luis handle the artwork and Tan's work continues to be rough yet appropriate for the tone of the book although I must say that I liked Luis' pages the most for the more polished finish.
Good read, hope the next one is just as satisfying.
