Aquaman will have to face the worst threat from the surface.
The Suicide Squad has been hired to destroy Atlantis and now Arthur is forced to handle a fight he never wanted.
Better than the last issue but not as good as it could be sadly.
The crossover between Aquaman and Suicide Squad continues and this definitely feels more like Dan Abnett's story all right. There's a clear distinction between the focus and writing that makes this chapter less obnoxious than the last one and actually offers interesting insight in Aquaman's relationships, from something as complex as his dynamic with Mera to something less relevant but still appropriate like his interaction with Murk. All of this seems like a solid development from Abnett's run.
However, this mostly seems like a transition issue where not a lot actually happens. I mean, they stop the Suicide Squad and there's definitely character work but it lacks plot progression and I wish it had more content overall.
Joe Bennett's style is always appreciated and shows a lot of detail in the expressions, storytelling and environments.
Not bad but I hope the next chapter offers more of everything.
