Some thoughts about Cave Carson has an Interstellar Eye #6

Is this the end for Cave Carson or just the beginning?

Cave has just found out that Bully is back but there's little time for reunions since a threat could destroy everything he cares about.

Good Lord, I need to pay more attention to solicits since I didn't know that this was going to end. Since the beginning, Jon Rivera knew how to create a pretty creative story based on one of the most obscure characters from the DCU but without losing the heart and humanity that is so important to them (Something I can't say about most titles from the Young Animal line) and here he presents a quite appropriate conclusion based on that direction.

Rivera once again delivers a wildly creative story where everything, and I mean EVERYTHING is at risk. No member of the cast is safe and while some of them are returning, others are about to die. Rivera exploits this premise powerfully by delivering bizarre event after bizarre event, strange creature after strange creature and all of those moments are great to see.

However, what is more important for me is the charm that accompanies such ideas. The return of Bully allows for a pretty interesting character scene between Chloe and him that shows development for both of them and makes them much more likable. The final pages also present really emotional segments where a life is over but thanks to some of the impossible aspects of this book, is brought back in the most ridiculous, yet fitting ways. Bravo.

Michael Avon Oeming's artwork is better than ever thanks to his flexible and inventive style that creates tons and tons of interesting environments, beings and characters.

Great finale. Going to miss this series in my life.
