Green Arrow's trial begins here.
Oliver is back to Seattle and ready to face all the things left unsolved and that includes the return of someone really important to him.
Yes, I'm calling the city "Seattle", not "Star City" since the explanation behind the change of names is ridiculously stupid and unrealistic even for superhero standards.
But let's talk about the story. Ben Percy continues to develope the many plot-points he has created over the course of this series but as usual, he doesn't do it particularly well. Let's talk about the most important one, the return of Moira Queen. This obviously contradicts what Jeff Lemire did during his run where Moira died in front of Ollie so this can't even be used as a lie like the death and return of Ollie's dad, then again, Percy is not strange to retconning things from Lemire's to replace them with much, MUCH less interesting ideas.
Worst of all, this could have actually worked if there was an actual explanation behind it but there isn't (so far and I'm not expecting much) and from a writing perspecting is much, MUCH worse since there wasn't any actual set-up for Moira's return since, unlike during Lemire's run, Moira didn't play an important role in Percy's run like Ollie's dad during Lemire's and so her appearance makes no sense whatsoever. But again, I shouldn't be surprised considering how Malcolm Merlyn was "introduced" here.
And of course, the plot is still a clash of ideas that shouldn't have lasted for so long. Rise your hand if you're tired of the Ninth Circle!
Jamal Campbell's artwork is really good though, a pretty distinctive style that creates beautiful characters and compelling storytelling.
Expect just disappointment from the next one but it will be fun to see how Percy tries to explain Moira's return.
