Can Michael Cray change the world?
Michael has always been used to follow other people's orders and this time is no different since he has been asked to deal with his next target, Oliver Queen.
The Wild Storm spinoffs have officially started and this is the perfect time for them.
As people should know, The Wild Storm hasn't exactly been one of the most satisfying reads in terms of pacing so another book focusing on more events based on this particular world is welcomed and this one is based on one of the most interesting characters from that series.
Based on a story created by Ellis, Bryan Hill delivers an opening chapter that explores the background of Michael Gray as well as his motivations and new mission. Is a surprisingly competent first issue at offering everything that an initial installment should, giving us enough info about the protagonist to be invested in him but leaving enough mystery for people to be intrigued about him.
The good aspects don't end there though since the world that Ellis created is quite interesting and allows for a natural development for any writer who wants to work on it and Hill does a solid job at fulfilling that promise by constructing a compelling direction for the character that somehow involves a famous DC superhero, Oliver Queen. As a big Green Arrow fan, this is greatly appreciated and is shocking to see how this world has affected him in a different way.
N. Steven Harris handles the artwork and is pretty solid with a style that is similar to the one from the main book although not as polished unfortunately, still looks appropriate though.
Promising overall, hope it continues this way.
