Can the Batwoman drown the world?
Bryce Wayne has lost everything in her universe and now is ready to make the people culprit for it pay, or at least the people she believes are culprit.
The Metal tie-ins continue and unlike the last one (Batman: The Dawnbreaker), this is a pretty solid one.
Dan Abnett brings a story of a female Batman with a connection to Aquaman's powers and is pretty logical that Abnett was chosen to write this one considering his solid work in the Aquaman books. In fact, Abnett brings a few concepts from his run like Dead Water and the classic relationship between Arthur and Mera which makes this a pretty cohesive read with what is currently happening in those titles.
I've already compared this with the Dawnbreaker but is necessary to mention that this is a much better execution of that premise. A version of Batman who lost his loved ones and wants to make the world burn for it but unlike the previous story, this one actually expands on the motivations for the character to make her more complex and understandable while also presenting shocking and interesting social commentary about how this world benefits from the suffering of other lesser ones (and I think we all know what that means in real life) which presents a solid twist to the theme of the event.
Philip Tan and Tyler Kirkham share the pencils and their work is decent for the most part, both maintain a consistent tone during the story although Kirkham remains the best.
Enjoyable overall, wouldn't mind more like this.
