The Justice League of America has failed its mission but that doesn't mean that the members have to follow suit.
Stargirl and Steve Trevor are having a conversation about the outcome of the Crime Syndicate's attack and what are the whereabouts of the rest of the members. Courtney will learn that no matter the final result of their group, its idea was always what mattered and so she has decided to continue it with people who are willing to help people.
I must admit that despite that I didn't like what this book became in the Forever Evil tie-ins, this issue actually delivers some of the best aspects from the original concept of the team.
Matt Kindt shows a great expertise at handling all these characters, especially Martian Manhunter and Stargirl who are perfectly on-point and shows how their relationship has been growing over the course of this series. If anything, Kindt has been able to portray a genuine father/daughter dynamic between both and so the issue and ending are pretty believable.
The other members receive a fair closure for their time on the book. The mystery about Catwoman addition is resolved, Katana is also explored and the best part for me is how Kindt hinted about the promised friendship between Oliver Queen and Simon Baz that never happened, it was pretty well done.
Eddy Barrows, Tom Derenick and Diogenes Neves all share art duties here and they are able to maintain a pretty cohesive style for the whole read thankfully.
A surprisingly satisfying ending for a book that could have been much more.
