Some thoughts about Green Lantern #31

Hal Jordan is finally improving his leadership skills and he will need all of them if he wants to be prepared against the upcoming threat.

The plan that the Durlans have been preparing for so long is finally coming into fruition. Is the war against the Green Lantern Corps and every being in the universe appears to be against them, how will Hal be able to deal with one of the greatest challenges that the Corps has ever faced?

This is the beginning of the "Uprising" crossover told in the pages of the Green Lantern and Green Lantern Corps titles and I must say that so far is a pretty promising start.

Robert Venditti is certainly able to bring a quite competent story that follows all the different sub-plots that he has been planting over the course of his run and all of them are developed in a pretty natural way. The war happens for several reasons but there's a catalyst that unleashes it completely, I really love when everything goes as planned.

Plus, I really enjoy the amount of diversity he brings to the cast of this title. Every member from the Corps is pretty unique and different from each other, not only in terms of personality but also in the abilities based on their respective race and all of them receive a decent share of the spotlight.

But I'm not forgetting about Hal, he has truly evolved over the course of this whole story and now he's a pretty capable leader able to save their teammates with the right strategy. Really good character work.

Billy Tan continues to improve in term of artwork, his characters are much more detailed and refined while his action is pretty intense and spectacular.

Great issue and the best part is that the next chapter is next week on Green Lantern Corps.
