The government is taking some pretty radical decisions after the events caused by the Crime Syndicate and due to these actions they know that they can give Waller as much control as before. However, they still believe that her idea had potential.
This is the first issue written by new author, Sean Ryan who will be responsible of handling the upcoming relaunch of the title, what's the veredict.
Frankly, so far it's pretty promising. The good aspects from this issue reside in both the new direction and characterization, Ryan focuses on a government who doesn't trust the people who used to defend it anymore and especially concerning Amanda Waller since she's treated pretty poorly for anyone in the story but it's logical based on everything what happened and it was a nice change of pace to see her out of her element.
The biggest and most pleasent surprise here was the portrayal of Black Manta, Sean Ryan got the character perfectly as a guy who needs to focus his rage into something to keep working and that gives him to potential to be used in other stories besides Aquaman-related ones.
Also, he brought back Deadshot's moustache, that gives him some pretty good points in my book.
Andre Coelho is in charge of the artwork and he does an excellent job thanks to his expressive, detailed and beautiful characters and scenarios.
Fantastic issue and one that makes me excited for the new volume. Bring the New Suicide Squad already.
