Some thoughts about Batman: Curse of the White Knight #4

How can Batman face Azrael now?

Commissioner Gordon is dead and Batgirl is ready to take revenge for him but the forces of Azrael might be too much for Batman and his allies.

This story continues and it's still really engaging.

Sean Murphy offers a new installment where he plays with the ramifications of the last one. The death of Jim Gordon has shocked the entire cast, especially Batman and Batgirl since this only made their already complicated dynamic even more tense. Murphy plays the the emotions of the characters powerfully making them react in logical and strong ways, creating an intense conflict of beliefs between them which are just as important as the upcoming conflict with Azrael.

The plot progresses at a nice pace due that the writer explores more about Gotham's background concerning the Waynes, giving characters like Alfred important roles and creating an actual meaning of the "Curse" part of this book's title. All of this leads to yet another strong cliffhanger with even more losses.

Murphy's art is still masterful, depicting each emotional scene perfectly along with a dark style that is fitting for the plot.

Great read, one of the best so far this week.
