Some thoughts about Red Hood & the Outlaws #26

Red Hood is on the road.

After losing his last team, Jason has no other choice but stay away from Gotham City while delivering his own sense of justice along the way.

This story has taken a pretty interesting turn.

Scott Lobdell plays with the ramifications of the last arc in a way that I wasn't really expecting. After the apparent death of Bizarro and Artemis, Jason has gone solo and possibly more violent than before which is a logical development considering how his freinds are gone and has lost Batman's confidence and allows for a new direction that so far seems exciting.

This issue is pretty much an one-and-done story in which Jason takes a case and does it in the most bombastic way imaginable and I have to say that Lobdell knows how to execute these moments and makes them really enjoyable and satisfying. The character work can be a bit on the nose at times but it doesn't take away from the fun.

Pete Woods handles the art and is solid with expressive characters and clear storytelling although I have a few issue with the way how he draws Jason since didn't look at all like the character and initially thought he was a different person, his new costume is cool though.

Solid issue overall, let's see where this goes.
