Some thoughts about Sixpack and Dogwelder: Hard-Travelin' Heroz #2

Sixpack and Dogwelder need help and they might get it from the most unexpected place.

Life hasn't been easy for John Constantine in the last few years but he still wants to help Dogwelder to find his destiny although there are more important matters at hand since The Spectre is coming for Baytor.

This is simply as hilarious as the last issue, perhaps even more.

Garth Ennis continues his superhero parody by immediately opening a chapter by reflecting his own opinions about what happened to Constantine since the New 52. Speaking as someone who liked the first New 52 Constantine series, I still couldn't help but laugh at how on-point this parody was, Ennis has all the right to make fun of the current state of the character considering his history with him and he definitely knows how to do it.

There are tons of other fun stuff like the portrayal of The Spectre who quickly forgets his melodramatic speech to talk like a normal guy once that he faces Baytor and his friends. Plus, despite that Ennis likes to ridiculize Batman every time he writes him, he still gave him a nice portrayal here that fits into the silly segment.

Russ Braun remains in art duties and his work fits Ennis' style perfectly thanks to his character expressions and great depiction of comedic scenes.

By far the most entertaining stuff this week, bravo.
