Some thoughts about Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps #5

The Green Lantern Corps strike back.

Sinestro is torturing Guy Gardner and Hal has just recovered from his injuries. Is up to John and the rest of the group to find what happened to them and finally confront their enemies.

For a transition chapter, this issue still proved to be enjoyable.

Robert Venditti continues his story by delivering a new installment where he focuses on the ramifications from the last one involving Guy, Hal and John, and how all of them react to the threat. The characterization is one of the most enjoyable aspects here due that you see different perspectives from the three protagonists depending on their situations and all of them show a great amount of willpower about how they deal with them.

The plot progresses nicely as well with every key player getting prepared for the inevitable conflict against the Yellow Lanterns which also obviously includes Sinestro and his plans for the rest of the universe.

Ethan Van Sciver remains in art duties and a lot of the credit goes for him due that he makes every scene from this issue look huge in terms of scope with a great storytelling skill.

Solid stuff, hope to see the fight between both Corps in the next one.
