What are the biggest problems the new Batman face?
The streets of Gotham are more dangerous than ever and while the Dark Knight is still there, people might be willing to find justice in their own way.
This series continues and the strong points are still present fortunately.
John Ridley continues the story about the new Batman with his identity no longer being a mystery since solicits revealed this a while ago but the reveal of his identity seems a bit blunt here considering how little we know about him. This doesn't really affect the plot though which progresses at a slow pace but developes enough hints about where things are going while depicting the future properly.
The highlight here are the characterization and dialogue due that the new Batman is encountering issues that make his role much more troublesome than before and they admitedly offer interesting dilemmas for him concerning his views of justice.
Laura Braga's art is solid with expressive characters and clear storytelling.
There's a second feature focusing on Cassandra Cain and Stephanie Brown in prison, the plot is about how the latter was shown to be a traitor over the years. I have problems with this take, not really because of the idea of Steph becoming evil or something since this could be intriguing and Vita Ayala creates a twist about it, the problem here is that Steph doesn't sound like Steph at all. She's more rude than usual instead of her silly self which seems rather off. The plot is fine and actually has compelling moments around the way. Aneke's art is really good looking with a clean style and attractive characters.
Good read, hope things continue this way.
