Can the world be saved?
Jon Kent believes there is still hope despite of Trigon's arrival and that hope resides in John Constantine despite of his own nature.
This series has come to a conclusion and while it had a few good moments here and there, I think it was mostly a forgettable ride.
Tom Taylor brings the final chapter where he delivers his classic solid character moments. All the characters come together to face the menace of Trigon along with the infected people but if you're completely fair, the characters who do most of the stuff are Jon and Constantine which is fine since Taylor has a connection to both characters (him being a Superman fan and currently writing a Constantine book) and he provides enjoyable scenes but everyone else is mostly filler.
This takes me to the next point, the series just ends. Yes, they quickly defeat Trigon after all the multiple powerups the characters had (by the way, why did Cassandra Cain even got the power of Shazam if she wasn't going to do anything?) and they just cure the rest of the world. Yes, happy ending and all that but it comes pretty abruptly and mostly seems like a set-up for a new title in this universe.
Trevor Hairsine's art is still fitting thanks to his rough pencils that follow the story perfectly.
Shock value, poor plot but with some good personal moments. That's what this title was all about and I don't know if I can justify a recommendation because of it. I think someone besides Taylor should write this universe at this point.
