Can Young Justice save Gemworld?
The team is finally reunited and they all will learn the reasons for that but that doesn't mean their future is safe.
Well, this was a fun conclusion all things considered.
Brian Bendis brings the final chapter of this initial storyarc by revealing quite a few plot-points. For one, the truth behind Conner's "wife and son" is explained and makes him look like a pretty admirable guy, mind you, I feel like the whole thing is rather convoluted just because Bendis wanted to create shock by revealing that Conner had a family but still works fine enough. The backstories for Teen Lantern and Jenny Hex are finally explored as well and they present interesting sub-plots for the future (although, again, the whole thing about not revealing Jenny's treasure is rather cliche for the sake of creating intrigue).
The plot progresses at a nice pace and offers a surprising amount of content. Plus, there are also quite a few fun moments concerning the characters (I think that Bendis has a good handle at Bart which is not that surprising considering his style) and this all leads to an interesting cliffhanger.
John Timms remains in art duties and his work is still energetic, expressive and perfect for this book.
Good stuff, hope the next arc continues this trend.
