Who is manipulating Wonder Woman?
Maxwell Lord has returned and clamors that he has changed but Diana knows him too well to believe him.
Lacking in content compared to the previous issue but is still a fine read.
Mariko Tamaki offers a new chapter where she explores the idea of the return of Maxwell Lord. For one, I'm glad that he's back as one of Wonder Woman's enemies since their shared history allows for more stories being told (Mind you, I feel he's kinda redundant considering Diana already has Doctor Psycho as a classic psychic rogue but still). Tamaki also offers an interesting development from that since there's something strange going on with Diana's head, something that makes her start hallucinating. It might be obvious what's causing this but I believe is too obvious to be the truth.
The issue is mostly centered around action scenes and they're well-paced and escalate properly but sadly this also makes it a rather fast read, especially compared to the last chapter that was more plot-focused.
Mikel Janin's artwork shines during those action scenes though with great storytelling and panel layouts that create intense visuals.
Decent installment. Hope the next one offers more progression though.
