Who can stop Darkseid?
Jessica is back to the present and is decided to free Victor from Darkseid's control but what she doesn't know is that someone of her team is going to betray them all.
Okay, this isn't necessarily "good" but at least is better than the last few issues.
Dan Abnett continues his story and there's actual progression going on there. For one, the battle has a nice sense of pace so everything happens pretty quickly an in a spectacular fashion. Mind you, this comes at the cost of presenting Darkseid as a rather uninteresting villain, I'm not one of those New Gods fans who doesn't accept anything that doesn't go with their views about the characters but I still think Darkseid here is a little blant, he's an imposing force no doubt but there's not a lot of depth to him.
Still, the rest of the cast fare a little better with Jessica and Cyborg finally showing some development after a lot of issues and while most of the new characters are still rather boring, one of them at least had an interesting twist.
Will Conrad remains in art duties and his work is still the best aspect of this run thanks to his energetic style that depicts every action scene with a lot of detail.
Passable at least. Things need to be over already though.
