Some thoughts about The Question: The Deaths of Vic Sage #4

Does The Question have the answer he was looking for?

Vic has finally solved the mystery behind his multiple memories and believes he has found the source of evil but the answer might be too simple to be true.

This series comes to a conclusion and does it in a solid way overall.

Jeff Lemire brings the final installment where he brings together many of the themes surrounding The Question. The forces that have been manipulating the protagonist are discovered and this is connected to the history of the character as a whole. However, Lemire understands that things are more complex than a simple "Good Vs. Evil" encounter and showcases a quite compelling finale where the only thing that remains are people. The supernatural and the realism clash in a pretty appropriate manner.

This allows for a more character-oriented issue where The Question tries to find himself, believes that he know he is as well as his mission, only to realize that life is rarely so simple and he will have to keep looking forever for answers. Themes and characterization working together perfectly, this is the kind of book I can dig.

Denyx Cowan handles the art and its dark aesthetic is perfect for the terrible realistic tone of the plot and the artist follows the script as close as possible with a lot of detail.

Great read, one of the best this week.
