What does the future awaits for the Forever People?
Mark and Dreamer are the only remaining members of the team after the disaster of the war and Dreamer is decided to keep things that way, no matter how unrealistic it might be.
Heh, this was certainly a pleasent surprise.
Both Dan Didio and Keith Giffen create a story being told in the 5 years later setting where they explore the idea of the Forever People being gone and failing due to the mistakes of their own leader. Is pretty obvious that the writers are teasing upcoming plot-points and sub-plots that are going to be developed over the course of the usual continuity.
I really enjoy this kind of issues where the creative team developes ideas that they're planning to use while still creating a solid stand-alone story.
Plus, that twist at the end made it even better. Not going to spoil it, but it gives a whole new meaning to this chapter.
Philip Tan is on art duties and his work is pretty good, much better than what I've seen from him recently. It has a quite dark, vibrant and expressive style that actually fits this tale really well.
Yet another satisfying issue. High hopes for the future.
