Black Canary is the new leader of the League of Assassins, what is her mission now?
Dinah has been helping different women around the world and making her join her army to destroy criminals but is that what she really wants?
*sigh* This series had so much potential at the beginning.
For those who are just recently following this series, this book launched with a pretty promising premise and creative team as well as an interesting cast of characters but constant editorial interferences robbed all the life this title had and sadly, Christy Marx final' issue is no different from that.
Dinah is now the leader of the League of Assassins and I don't like that idea at all since it doesn't fit her character in the slightlest. However, even if I leave my personal preferences aside, this is still a pretty pointless issue, it doesn't bring a distinctive nor interesting look to the character and just feels like a pretty forced mandate from DC Comics, one that is devoid of any depth.
I don't think Marx is a bad writer since I really enjoyed her Sword and Sorcery series and she certainly demonstrates good skills at characterization on the scenes between Black Canary and Batgirl. Nonetheless, the plot itself lacks any sense of progression or uniqueness.
Robson Rocha is handling the pencils and his work is the best part from this installment possibly. His character models are beautiful and quite detailed while the action is really well portrayed.
Disappointing conclusion. Hope that this book gets better luck in the future.
