Some thoughts about Wonder Woman #765

Who is Wonder Woman's next target?

Diana and Max are still forced to work together, this time chasing Count Vertigo but the villain's new powers might be too much for them.

Once again, a pretty enjoyable read.

Mariko Tamaki continues her story about the partnership between Diana and Maxwell Lord. Once again, the writer nails the dynamic between the two, making every scene featuring them enjoyable and writing what possibly is the most entertaining portrayal of Max post-Countdown retcon, even if we consider the good work Judd Winick did with him in Justice League: Generation Lost.

The plot is still about them going against powerful villains and this time they have to handle Count Vertigo of all people. Mind you, I'm still not a fan of the reinvention Ben Percy did with the Green Arrow villain and sadly, Tamaki is following that simplistic interpretation pretty closely but that's not really her fault. The cliffhanger seems interesting at least.

Steve Pugh's artwork is pretty solid with really expressive characters and precise storytelling.

Good chapter, hope the next one continues this trend.
