Some thoughts about Justice League Odyssey #18

Can the Justice League regain their own selves?

Jessica is trying to free her friends from Darkseid's control but to do so, she will have to go back in time.

I don't know how many times I have to say this but: This isn't working.

Dan Abnett continues his story and he continues to make it as uninteresting as possible. The biggest problem has become obvious, he replaced the main cast with a bunch of characters that are not compelling enough to devote so much focus on them (Orion aside) and Abnett barely does anything to develop them. Plus, the story is not really progressing much or at least, is not intriguing enough to be invested on it.

And that's the thing, I don't think Abnett is the right man to fix a story. He's good when he single-handedly works on a series like he's extremely solid Aquaman run but when he has stuff like editorial mandates interfere with his plans things are quickly ruined like it happened in Titans. Here, he was asked to completely change the direction of the book and he clearly didn't have a good enough vision for it, it wasn't worth it.

Cliff Richards handles the art and is the best part of the book with a pretty vibrant style and clear storytelling.

Aside from that, just let the book die already.
